Just got my hands on this GL.iNet eSIM card, and here's my honest take after using it during my Euro trip last month.
The good stuff first: The activation was stupid easy. Plugged it into my X750 router, scanned the QR code, and boom - connected in under 2 minutes. No tech headaches!
Coverage was solid across 5 countries I visited. Streamed Netflix in Paris without buffering (though that ate through my 1GB FAST). The 5G speeds in Germany were legit - faster than my home WiFi!
Now the not-so-great: That 1GB free data disappears quicker than free hotel shampoo. Had to top up twice during my 10-day trip. At €20 per GB, my wallet felt lighter than my luggage.
Biggest win? Not having to hunt for local SIM cards at every airport. Biggest oof? Realizing too late it doesn't work in phones directly (duh, should've read the fine print).
Final verdict: 4/5 stars. Perfect if you're a digital nomad with a GL.iNet router. Overkill for casual vacationers who just want Instagram access.
