Let me start by saying this insulation panel does have its perks. The foam is dense and does a decent job blocking drafts. I noticed less cold air sneaking in during winter, and it helped keep my room cooler in summer. Cutting it to size was a breeze with regular scissors – no fancy tools needed!
However, the adhesive tape is where things fall apart. Like some reviewers mentioned, it's not the stickiest. Mine started peeling after just a few days. I ended up using extra tape to keep it in place. The color is also slightly off-white, more of a grayish tint.
On the plus side, it does reduce noise and light leakage around the AC unit. I sleep better with these panels in place. They're especially helpful if you live in a noisy area or have bright streetlights outside.
Installation is straightforward, but be prepared to use a hairdryer to flatten the rolled-up panel first. The material is flexible, not rigid, which makes it easier to fit around uneven surfaces.
Would I recommend it? Maybe – if you're okay with reinforcing the adhesive yourself. It's not perfect, but for the price, it does improve insulation around window AC units.
