I recently installed the Blink Outdoor 4 camera mounts, and they do make adjusting the viewing angle a breeze. The ball joint lets you pivot the camera horizontally and vertically, which is great for covering tricky spots like my driveway corner.
However, the plastic feels flimsy—like it might not survive a harsh winter. I’m already worried about the wobble in the joint; it doesn’t hold position firmly, so a strong wind could misalign the camera. Not ideal for security.
The included Sync Module 2 mount is a nice touch, keeping everything tidy indoors. But the housing covers? They tanked my signal strength. My camera near the garage barely connects now, which defeats the purpose.
Battery life is another headache. Despite using lithium AAs as recommended, cold weather (hello, -30°C snap) froze my cameras solid. They stopped recording entirely, leaving me with zero security for days. The delay in motion activation is frustrating too—by the time it starts recording, the raccoon raiding my trash is already halfway down the street.
Verdict: Handy for fair-weather setups, but don’t rely on them for harsh climates or critical security.
