Let me start by saying I've been using the Hanaive steering wheel locks for about 3 months now on my Honda Civic and my wife's SUV. The bright yellow color definitely makes them visible through the windshield, which is great for deterring casual thieves.
The installation is super simple - just adjust the length to fit your steering wheel (works perfectly on both our vehicles), insert the key, and pull to lock. It literally takes about 5 seconds once you get used to it. The rubber sleeves do protect the steering wheel from scratches, which I appreciate.
However, I have some concerns after reading that one review where someone's car was stolen despite having these locks. While they feel sturdy (the steel construction seems solid), I wouldn't rely on them as my only anti-theft measure in high-risk areas. They're more of a visual deterrent than Fort Knox-level security.
The value is fantastic though - getting two locks means I can protect both our cars. The keys aren't universal between locks, which is good for security. After daily use, they've held up well with no signs of wear.
Would I recommend them? Yes, but with realistic expectations. For the price, they add an extra layer of protection and might make thieves move on to an easier target. Just don't expect them to stop determined professionals with power tools.
