I went into Brahms: The Boy II with low expectations, thinking it might just be a cash-grab sequel. But wow, was I wrong! This movie actually managed to creep me out more than the first one.
The paranormal twist had me constantly questioning - is it really the doll this time? The uncertainty made every scene with Brahms tense and unsettling. That moment when you realize the rules have changed... chills!
Katie Holmes delivers a fantastic performance that really anchors the film. And I appreciate that the scares feel earned - no cheap jump scares here. The atmosphere builds beautifully throughout.
While some fans prefer the original's more psychological approach, I found this supernatural take refreshing. It's different enough to stand on its own while expanding the creepy Brahms mythology.
The 4K transfer does have some dark scenes (fair warning), but the audio quality is excellent for those chilling doll sounds. Overall, if you enjoyed the first film or like creepy doll movies in general, this sequel is absolutely worth your time.
