I’ve been using the JUNLIT 15A Dual Smart Plugs for a few weeks now, and they’ve been a mixed bag of convenience and minor frustrations. Here’s my honest take.
Setup & Connectivity: The setup was surprisingly smooth—no hub required, and my phone connected via the app in minutes. Alexa recognized them instantly, which was a relief. However, the QR code setup felt clunky. The sticker is permanently stuck on top of the plug, and scanning it while it’s plugged in was awkward. Thankfully, they included extra QR stickers in the box.
Design & Functionality: The compact design is a win—it doesn’t block adjacent outlets, which is great for crowded power strips. Controlling individual plugs via voice (Alexa/Google Assistant) or the app works flawlessly. I love scheduling my lamps to turn on at dusk and my coffee maker in the morning. But the "master" device mystery annoys me—it shows up in the app but does nothing useful except confuse me.
Performance & Safety: Overload protection gives peace of mind, and they handle my lamps, fan, and humidifier without hiccups. But beware: one reviewer mentioned capacitor failures after a few months. So far, mine are holding up, but I’m keeping an eye out.
The Quirks: Why only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi in 2024? And the Matter compatibility feels half-baked—it’s supposed to simplify smart homes but adds complexity here. Also, the plugs wobble slightly due to their off-center design.
Verdict: If you need affordable, no-frills smart plugs with solid core features, these work. Just don’t expect premium polish or future-proofing.
