Let me start by saying I wasn't expecting much from these boots given their price point, but boy was I wrong! The first thing that struck me was how soft the genuine leather felt - none of that stiff, cardboard-like material you get with cheaper alternatives.
I've worn these to both casual outings and semi-formal events, and they've performed beautifully each time. The breathable mesh lining is a game-changer - no more sweaty feet even after hours of wear. That said, I did notice some rubbing when I tried wearing them with shorter socks (lesson learned!).
The break-in period was surprisingly short. After just a few wears, they molded comfortably to my feet. Pro tip: Do use a shoehorn during this period to protect the heel counter. The rubber sole provides excellent cushioning for city walking, though I wouldn't recommend them for all-day standing marathons.
After 6 months of regular wear (about twice a week), they're holding up remarkably well. There's some expected creasing at the flex points and minor scuffing, but nothing that detracts from their appearance. The cognac color has developed a nice patina with occasional neutral polish applications.
For the price, these are an absolute steal compared to designer brands charging 3x as much. They won't replace your heavy-duty work boots, but for stylish everyday wear? Definitely worth every penny.
