Okay, so I finally got my hands on this tree climbing kit and... wow, it's a mixed bag. Let me break it down for y'all.
First off - the quality is actually pretty solid. The harness feels sturdy and the orange rope looks bright enough that I won't lose it in the woods (important when you're as clumsy as me). The leg pads? Surprisingly comfy! They really do help with pressure distribution.
BUT here's the big BUT - those spikes placement is whack. Like, dangerously whack. Almost gave myself a DIY foot piercing at 20 feet up. Not cute. I had to modify my climbing style completely because standing on what feels like a single nail gets old REAL fast.
The accessories are decent though! The adjustable belt works well and the gloves are a nice touch. Just wish they'd fix that spike positioning - it's literally a safety hazard waiting to happen.
Final verdict? Great for light work if you're careful, but serious climbers might want to look elsewhere. My back hurts from all the awkward positioning, but hey - at least I didn't impale myself!
