Just upgraded from my old Chromecast to this Google TV Streamer 4K and wow, what a difference! The ethernet port was my main reason for switching, and it's been rock solid. No more occasional wifi stutters during movie nights.
The setup was surprisingly easy (though heads up - you'll need your own HDMI cable). Took about 15 minutes including updates. Pro tip: use the Google Home app to save time!
That new remote? Game changer. It's longer, has better texture, and the front-mounted volume buttons make way more sense than the side ones. Love the programmable shortcut button too - mine opens Netflix with one click.
Performance is noticeably snappier than my old Chromecast. Apps load quick, navigation is smooth, and the 32GB storage means I can download all my streaming apps without worrying about space.
Only minor gripes: The white color stands out like a sore thumb in my all-black entertainment center (Google, please make a black version!). And HDMI-CEC still acts wonky sometimes with my other devices.
For the price? Absolute steal compared to Apple TV or Nvidia Shield. If you're looking to upgrade your streaming setup, this little powerhouse gets two thumbs up from me!
