I was excited to try this air conditioner deflector, hoping it would solve my constant battle with the AC's harsh direct airflow. The idea of adjustable angles and universal use in both summer and winter sounded perfect for my small apartment.
Installation was a breeze - no tools needed, just snap the pieces together. I appreciated not having to drill holes in my rental walls. The lightweight PP material felt sturdy enough at first glance, though some edges were slightly rough.
When I first used it, I noticed immediate relief from that annoying direct blast on my face while working at my desk. The 180-degree adjustment let me redirect cool air upwards during summer nights, creating more comfortable circulation.
However, after a week of use, I started noticing significant airflow reduction. My room wasn't cooling as effectively, forcing me to increase fan speed (and energy costs). The deflector does create noticeable air resistance against the wall. I considered modifying it like some reviewers did by cutting larger vents.
The biggest disappointment came when trying to use it for winter heating - the lightweight construction simply couldn't handle stronger blower settings without vibrating noisily. For elderly family members or babies as advertised, I'd worry about stability during extended use.
While it provides temporary relief from direct airflow in mild conditions, this deflector falls short of being a complete solution. It works okay for gentle redirection but significantly impacts overall AC efficiency at higher settings.
