I recently got my hands on this retractable air deflector, hoping to solve the constant battle with my AC's direct blasts. Right off the bat, the adjustable length (21.79-41.66 inches) is a game-changer—it fits snugly on my wall-mounted unit without any drilling, which I appreciated.
The initial setup was straightforward, and I loved how easily I could redirect airflow away from my face while working at my desk. No more shivering under icy gusts or waking up with dry eyes! The telescopic arms let me customize the angle perfectly, though adjusting them does require two hands (a minor annoyance during midnight temperature tweaks).
However, three weeks in, I noticed the middle section starting to warp like a sad banana during heater mode—exactly like another reviewer warned. While it still deflects air, the drooping center makes it look like it's begging for retirement. The adhesive strips also lost their grip faster than I expected.
For $15, it's decent at its core job of wind redirection, but don't expect longevity if your unit alternates between hot and cold frequently. Maybe ABS plastic would've saved this design—until then, I'll use it cautiously while hunting for sturdier alternatives.
