Okay, so I finally caved and bought this bracket after years of using sketchy wooden blocks. Best. Decision. Ever.
The installation was stupid easy - like 'I-did-it-while-drinking-my-morning-coffee' easy. No drilling, no swearing at mysterious hardware pieces, just pop it in and go.
My AC unit weighs about 150lbs and this thing holds it like it's nothing. Even during that crazy storm last month when my neighbor's cheap bracket failed spectacularly (RIP his geraniums), mine stayed rock solid.
Pro tip: The instructions could be clearer (I may have assembled it upside down first), but once you figure it out, you'll feel like a DIY god. The metal feels heavy-duty enough that I'm pretty sure it could survive the apocalypse.
Only gripe? Wish I'd known to buy weather stripping separately. Had to make an emergency Home Depot run when I realized there were gaps. Still - 10/10 would recommend to anyone tired of their AC unit looking like it might commit suicide out the window.
