Just installed the RaceQuip shifter boot in my project car and wanted to share some thoughts.
The good: The aluminum base is solid and pre-drilled holes made mounting a breeze. The fire-retardant material feels quality and snaps securely in place. Love that I can pop it off easily when working on the shifter.
The meh: It does run a bit small - had to get creative with the fitment in my '78 Trans Am. Also noticed the snap rivets seem kinda flimsy; might reinforce them before they pull through.
Price point stings a little for what you get, but honestly can't find better fire protection for the shifter area. 3.5/5 stars - does the job but could be improved.
