Having used the Orange Holiday Europe SIM card on multiple trips across the continent, I can confidently say it's a game-changer for travelers – with a few caveats.
The setup is incredibly easy. Just pop in the triple-cut SIM (it fits all phones!), restart your device, and you're good to go. I particularly love how it automatically connects to local networks without any manual configuration.
The data performance is stellar. With 30GB of high-speed 4G/5G data (including hotspot tethering!), I never worried about running out while navigating with Google Maps, posting travel photos, or video calling home. It worked flawlessly in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
However, my experience in Iceland was frustrating. While data worked perfectly, outgoing calls simply wouldn't connect despite multiple troubleshooting attempts with customer support. This cost me precious vacation time and money when I missed a tour pickup.
The included French number is convenient for local calls within Europe but can confuse contacts expecting your regular number. Also be aware that some automated services (like restaurant ordering apps) may detect you as being in France rather than your actual location.
Customer support via TSIM's chat is responsive but can be hit-or-miss for complex issues. When it works (which is most of the time), this SIM is an absolute travel essential. But if you're visiting Iceland or need absolutely reliable calling functionality everywhere, you might want to consider alternatives.
